Charles Warren was a famous London born engraver who enjoyed a wonderful reputation for his engravings of small book illustrations. He was President of The Artist's Fund Society and became a member of The Society of Arts in 1804. He is best known for his development of steel plates for engraving and received a Gold medal in 1823 by the Society of Arts for this work
