Kishon was launched in 1872 possibly in Amble, which did have a small shipyard, but may have been built in Sunderland for an owner from Amble. In 1890, being towed to Appledore, Cornwall for repairs she parted her tow and was driven ashore on Bude breakwater. The Kedron was built in Kingsport, Nova Scotia and launched in 1881.
