A JAPANESE SHIBAYAMA-STYLE SILVER CASE

MEIJI PERIOD, 1868-1912

The rectangular panel to the front embellished with three small birds amongst sakura and wisteria flowers, the inlays in mother of pearl on the gold lacquer ground, the silver incised with further blossoms and the reverse with a large iris growing from a stream, signed Seikin and with the jungin (pure silver) mark inside, 8.8cm x 6.5cm.

Condition Report

There is a little scratching to the surface of the silver, in particular to the reverse and inside. Two small inlaid mother of pearl leaves are lacking, otherwise, good.
