The circular body delicately painted with a panel enclosing a scene of small birds flying above large sprays of chrysanthemum, on a millefleurs ground, the minute flowers painted in a variety of pastel colours and with details in gold, the rims with gilt bands of coin patterns, the insides with further blooms and gold dots, the lower half of the box with four sprays of chrysanthemum blossoms and scrolling tendrils, the base embellished with an elaborate mark for Kinkozan, together with a fitted wood box with purple silk lining, 8.1cm dia.
