"I moved to London in the mid 70s to work with industry legends Norman Parkinson and Terence Donovan. I moved to Milan, where I seized opportunities to work on leading Italian publications such as Linea Italia and then Italian Vogue. There I was given the platform to showcase my ability to shoot both fashion and portraiture.

After moving back to London I began working with Lucinda Chambers at British Vogue and then on to participate in the launch photography of British Elle giving the renowned European publication a distinctive British style. In 1990 I set up a photographic studio complex at Perseverance Works in Shoreditch London, helping develop the careers of a team of assistants which included the renowned David Sims.

I have been a leading figure in fashion editorial and advertising photography, widely recognised for my capacity to apply the style of classical portraiture to the genre of modern fashion photography. My work is noted for its clean style combined with minimalistic beautiful light.

Embracing the transition to digital, I found the medium helped my clean considered style and was regarded as a digital pioneer.

In 1995 I was asked by Diana Princess of Wales to shoot a set of portraits of herself with Prince William and Prince Harry. These have become iconic."
