Madeleine studied Fine Art and Illustration at Camberwell College of Art, London. Her illustrations, watercolours and oil paintings are published and collected around the world. She works from her studio in London.

Madeleine has written and illustrated many books such as her collection of British birds in 'Birdsong' which has become a much loved bestseller.

Madeleine’s work has been championed by the National Trust and Highgrove Enterprises among many others and she continues to build a timeless British brand with a wide range of products including bone china mugs, art prints, home textiles and greeting cards. Over the last two years Madeleine has also developed a delicious chocolate collaboration with The Chocolate Detective creating an ever increasing range of hand finished chocolate birds eggs.

Madeleine continues to support and raise awareness for the charities that she supports. During the pandemic her illustration of a nightingale with rainbow wings became the emblem of the NHS Nightingale hospitals and was utilized to raise many thousands for The Florence Nightingale Foundation charity and she produced an image of the national bird of Ukraine, the white stork stepping through fallen sunflowers and this has been published as a greeting card containing sunflower seeds and an art print to symbolize hope with all proceeds going to the Red Cross Emergency Aid fund for Ukraine.

Her work celebrates the natural world and is both accessible and elegant, contemporary and creative. Madeleine’s art is British in its origin and timeless in its appeal.
