From early memories of painting together with my mother, on the kitchen table and later, taking our brushes out into the fields, painting has been essential part of my life, soothing my soul and evoking excitement as I look upon a blank canvas, full of possibilities. With colour and brush stroke, I endeavour to capture my emotional response to the landscape, sea and weather, mostly in vibrant abstracted form. In contrast, the beauty and detail of flowers absorbs me, these works tending towards the representational. Responding to colour at an emotional level, very little of my work escapes without a daub of pink, even if hidden! I have sold my work widely through exhibition and commission and am always happy to embrace new ventures.
