Jill Berelowitz, born in Johannesburg and based in London, is internationally recognised for her powerful bronze and resin sculptures that explore the human form, nature, and the cycles of life. Her works embody both strength and fragility, blending sensuality with a contemporary elegance.
Recurring motifs — trees of life, seed pods, spheres, and the female figure — express transformation, regeneration, and resilience. Drawing inspiration from her South African roots, Jill merges human forms with organic structures: acacia leaves, tumbleweed, rocks, and branches. These pieces stand as both deeply personal reflections and universal allegories of humanity.
Her major public commissions include Diving Girl at the London 2012 Olympic Village, Core Femme outside Charing Cross Hospital, and the monumental Mind’s Eye Tree at Shakespeare’s New Place in Stratford-upon-Avon. More recently, she created the Dorchester Sphere for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, the Tree of Cherished Memories at the National Memorial Arboretum, and a monumental dachshund sculpture for George Private Members Club in Mayfair.
At the heart of Jill’s practice lies an intuitive understanding of human nature and spirituality. Her sculptures radiate joy and optimism, celebrating motherhood, womanhood, and the shared journey of love and life. Whether dynamic or abstracted, each work is alive with movement, light, and sensual appeal.
Collected worldwide, Jill Berelowitz’s sculptures are both timeless and collectible, connecting audiences through their universal themes and radiant spirit.
