A late 17th century ebonised table clock, the twin fuse movement with a verge escapement and striking on a bell, with a foliage and bird engraved back plate, the 7in square brass dial with a silvered chapter ring and subsidiary 'Strike/Not' and 'Slow/Fast' dials, the matt centre with a pierced pendulum aperture, inscribed 'Claudius Du Chesne,' the chapter ring inscribed 'LONDON,' the case with a domed top and brass carrying handle with glazed side panels, on brass disc feet, 39.5cm (15.5in) high. Claude Duchesne was working in London c.1693-1730.
