We are thrilled to present our Silver & Objects of Vertu sale taking place on Tuesday, 3rd February.
The day will feature a range of wonderful collections, starting with a private collection of caddy spoons (Lots 43-55). Also included is a private collection of stamp boxes, postage & desk accessories (Lots 167- 222).
There is the final part III of the Michael Baggott collection (Lots 263- 383), standout items are A Charles II provincial silver two-handled porringer, by Thomas Mangy, York 1672 (Lot 311), A rare James I West-Country silver dish, by Edward Harsell, Bristol circa 1620 (Lot 312), A pair of George III silver goblets, maker's mark only T.T, circa 1790–1800, although we have been unable to find the mark TT, Michael Baggott attributed these to being by Thomas Tailford of Edenderry. (Lot 317).
This is followed by a private collection of pencils & dip pens (Lots 388-415) with many examples from S. Mordan and Co.
Elsewhere in the auction, there is a set of twelve Victorian silver plates, by Robert Garrard, London (Lot 481), and a pair of Victorian silver entrée dish bases with associated covers,by John Samuel Hunt, London (Lot 478).
