rectangular form, engine-turned decoration, the hinged cover with heavy foliate scroll borders, inscribed 'Presented to Qr. Mr. Serjt. Thos. Leonard, by The Serjeants of the 38th Regt. as a token of the high Estimation in which he has been held by them during a period of 24 years 15th June 1840', length 8.3cm, approx. weight 3.8oz.
