square form, moulded border, on four gnarl feet, engraved with an armorial, length 30.7cm, approx. weight 35.4oz.
The armorial is that of Foster impaling Maunsell or Mansel. This is for a descendant of John Foster of Hornby Castle (the owner of John Foster & Sons, industrialists in Bradford). Robert Lionel Foster (1871-1952) married Eleanor Maud Mansel (d. 1944) in 1909.
