λA Louis XV French gold mounted poudre d'ecaille pique snuff box,
maker's mark probably that of Edme-Francois Jarry, with charge and discharge marks of Jean-Jacques Prevost, Paris 1764,
oval form, the body with chequer board decoration of silver and gold pique ring, pierced and engraved borders, tortoiseshell interior, the inside of the hinged cover with a later inset portrait of Louis XV in the manner of Jean Baptiste Masse, length 7.5cm.
