A silver thimble
A silver thimble, cotton reel and caster,
unmarked, possibly German or Italian, early 19th century,
baluster form, engine-turned decoration, the screw-off thimble reveals the cotton reel, the caster with three screw-off sections, height 5.5cm, approx. weight 1oz.
Provenance: purchased from Christie's South Kensington, 20 June 1988.
