by Edward Smith, Birmingham 1847,

rectangular form, engraved foliate scroll decoration, the interior of the cover inscribed 'Presented to Mr John Patterson, Late Land Steward Dunse Castle, by The Workmen upon that Estate as a mark of their Esteem, July 1951', length 8cm, plus another snuff box by the same maker, Birmingham 1850, approx. total weight 5.4oz.
