A George III silver wax-jack
A George III silver wax-jack,
by William Cox, London 1768,
on a shaped circular base with pierced scroll decoration, gadroon border, the carrying handle with a feather-edge thumb-piece, with scissor-action cutter and drip pan, on three claw pad feet, engraved with a crest, height 14.5cm, approx. weight 6.8oz.
The crest is possibly Bury of Devon.
Provenance: Purchased from Christie's, London 12 May 1993.
