A 19th century Dutch silver tobacco box,

in the early 17th century manner, rectangular form, the hinged cover engraved with Leda and the swan and other panels, within foliate scroll decoration, with a slide-off cover which reveals a pierced and engraved scene of a courting couple and two trumpeters, on a velvet background, the base also with a slide-off panel which reveals two courting couples and a gentleman holding a sword, the interior of the box with two hinged panels which open to reveal a gentleman and lady in country settings, the doors engraved 'KS' and 1607', length 12.4cm, approx. weight 8.4oz.
