A George III silver two-handled soup tureen and associated cover,

oval form, part-fluted decoration, foliate capped drop ring handles, the front applied with an armorial plaque, on a raised oval foot with a gadroon border, the pull off cover with a large cone finial and engraved with a crest and motto, the base inscribed 'N1' and with a scratch weight, the underside of the cover engraved 'N2' and also with a scratch weight, length 33.5cm, height 34cm, approx. total weight 81.9oz.
The crest is that of St. Clair, Earls of Rosslyn.
