An early Victorian presentation snuff box,
by Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham 1837,
rectangular form, engine-turned decoration, the cover inscribed 'To Mr James Anderson, from the workers in Messrs. James Templeton and Co. Patent Rug and Carpet Factory, as a token of their respect for him as their manager, Glasgow 24 April 1841', length 7.8cm, approx. weight 3.3oz, plus a Far-eastern filigree finger guard, set with stones, in a fitted case.
