We are delighted to present our two-day Silver & Objects of Vertu sale taking place on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th of July.
Day two of the sale features some fascinating collections including A Private Collection of Arts and Crafts and Post War Silver, (lots 443-589) The J. and V.A. Rocyn-Jones Collection of Wine and Sauce Labels (Part II) (lots 616-667)
Also included in day two is the exceptional Michael Baggott Collection (Part I) (lots 682- 834)
The highlight of this collection is York items, including The rare George III provincial silver tontine chamberstick and snuffer, by Hampston and Prince, York 1793, also with the town mark, the underside engraved with the names of the subscribers in the tontine and their dates of death. (lot 712)
Other highlights of the sale include a rare Queen Anne Scottish silver thistle mug, by John Luke, Glasgow 1704 (lot 863 ) and a rare William III Scottish silver mug, maker's mark of Robert Bruce, assay master James Penman, Edinburgh 1697 (lot 861)
The day concludes with some exceptional items of early silver from the Collection of the Late Lady Barnard.
