A suite of five George III silver two-handled sauce tureens and covers,
by Wakelin and Taylor, London 1789,
comprising one larger and four smaller, oval form, reeded scroll handles, gadroon borders, on raised oval bases, the pull-off covers with a reeded scroll handle, engraved with an armorial and crest, numbered '1-4', the larger one numbered '2', length handle to handle 21.2cm, length of largest handle to handle 23.8cm, approx. weight 100oz. (5)
The arms are those for John Poulett, 4th Earl Poulett impaling Pocock. The 4th Earl married Sophia Pocock in 1782.
