Johann Georg II (1613-1656-1680), Elector of Saxony, his installation as a Knight of the Garter, silver medallic Thaler, 1671, Dresden mint, St George on horseback slays the dragon, rev., legend in nine lines within wreath, DU TRÉ HAUT TRÉ PUISSANT ... PRINCE CHARLES II ..., 47mm (MI 548/205; Eim. 246; Davenport 7633; KM 565). Good very fine and toned.

Johann Georg II had been installed as a Knight of the Garter in Windsor, on 29 May 1671. See also lot 489.
