A rare George IV silvergilt "Lady Bountiful" wine label, with a frosted central section and polished title area, pierced "BURGUNDY", by C. Rawlings, London 1822. See Wine Labels 1730-2003, by John Salter figs 282 and 564 for similar labels and pp 157 where it states "His (Charles Rawlings) most original design, in terms of uniqueness is the so-called Lady Bountiful which he probably first made in 1821 and was still being continued by his successor, William Summers in 1878. However it is still a rare design...."
