George, Prince of Wales, Prince Regent, the laying of the Foundation Stone for the new Theatre Royal, Covent Garden, 1808, a large gilt-copper medal, by Peter Rouw, bust right in high relief (and struck separately from the background), rev., legend, GEORGIUS PRINCEPS WALLIARUM THEATRI REGIS INSTAURANDI AUSPICIIS IN HORTIS BENEDICTINIS LONDONINI FUNDAMENTA SUA MANU LOCAVIT MDCCCVIII, 91mm, believed only 18 specimens struck. Pierced and with a ring for suspension, very fine and extremely rare, being previously only recorded in copper.
