An interesting Queen Anne oval tobacco box and cover, with reeded borders and an engraved coat of arms on the cover *, by Thomas Ash, London 1705, 3.25in (8.4cm) long, 3oz. * Arms of Fox Found in the river Thames, adjacent to Queenhithe Dock. With the exception of mild staining and slight corrosion this box is in remarkable condition, considering that it has probably been in the Thames mud for most of its life. It is equally remarkable that the box and cover were not seperated.
