New Zealand, World War II, Memorial Cross, George VI, named to NZ402982 F/Sjt A. S. Christie, in case of issue, with certificate. Extremely fine. Flight Sergeant (W. Op. / Air Gnr.) Arthur Stafford Christie, of 75 (R.A.F.) Squadron, was killed on 21 June, 1942 and is buried in the War Cemetery on Schiermonnikoog, the most northerly of the Frisian Islands. On 4 April 1940, The New Zealand Squadron had been renamed No. 75 Squadron in April 1940. In 1942 they were flying the Vickers Wellington III.
