A rare George III Irish nutmeg grater, of plain oval outline with moulded borders, a hinged base and a hinged, low domed cover, engraved with the script initials 'WR' below a crest and in turn below the motto 'PRO DEO ET REGE', the body initialled 'DJ', and the cover interior inscribed 'J.ASH', blued steel grater, maker's mark only struck twice, by James Keating, Dublin 1785-1795, 1.7in (4.3cm).
