A rare and important cartouche shaped box, with moulded borders, a hinged flat base and a hinged low domed cover, crested* opening to reveal a steel grater, unmarked, c.1740, 2.25in (5.7cm), 2.8oz.
* Crest is that of Walpole, probably for Sir Robert (1676-1745)
