A fine and interesting modern silvergilt cup and cover, hand wrought and further embellished with mounting and decoration, the cover with the cast figure of a whistful seated nymph, the cup resting on a velvet covered plynth with a plaque inscribed "This silver gilt cup and cover was designed in Furnival Works Sheffield. It has been exhibited at Seaford House, Goldsmith's Hall London and in Canada" hallmarked London 1928 with maker's mark of R.G. Toms and sponsor's mark of Roberts & Belk, the cup 5in (13cm) diameter, 23oz.
