Two pairs of George III sauceboats of bellied oval form with gadrooned rims, flying scroll handles, fluted legs and pad feet; one pair by an unascribed maker 'G.S.' (Grimwade 3596), London 1770; the other pair by an unidentified maker 'SS' (Grimwade 3799), London 1772, 7in (17.5cm) long, 40oz. (4) Bearing: Each engraved with the arms of Godolphin, possibly for Francis Godolphin Osborn, the marquess of Carmarthen and Fauconberg & Conyers inventory Nos.
