the waiter London 1912, the inkwell 1911, and inscribed 'ME FECURUNT A.D 19119 F.S. GREENWOOD ET ALVIN WATTS',

the inkwell of thistle form, the hinged cover with a monogram, on three leaf supports, the waiter of hexagonal form, spot-hammered decoration, rope-work border, on six bun feet, length of waiter 4.3cm, approx. weight 6.1oz. (2)

The partnership of Frederick Smythe-Greenwood and Alvin Watts was heavily influenced by the work of Omar Ramsden and Alwyn Carr, and the Latin inscription mirrors this.
