A Victorian silver soup plate, by Robert Garrard, London 1848, shaped circular form, gadroon border, engraved with an armorial, diameter 24.2cm, approx. weight 17oz. ** The arms are those of John Stuart Bligh, (1827-1896), 6th Earl of Darnley, hereditary High Steward of Gravesend. He married Lady Harriet Mary Pelham, daughter of the Earl of Chichester in 1850.
