A mid-17th century silver-gilt Apostle Spoon, unidentified Apostle,
marked once to bowl and twice to stem with a winged cherub, probably unascribed English provincial, but possibly Newport, circa 1650,
the reverse of the slightly oval bowl prick-dot initialled '1662' and 'M*S' over 'E*B', and later scratch initialled 'I*P', faceted tapering stem, gilded finial, 18.8cm, approx. weight 1.7oz.
