An early-18th century Dutch silver tobacco box,
maker's mark only, probably PC, circa 1730,
oval form, the cover engraved with a scene of four men at a gaming table, drinking, smoking and one with a female companion, within foliate scroll and cherub decoration, the underside with a scene of four men playing a game at the table, initialled 'JDB', the interior of the cover with later decoration and inscribed, length 12.7cm, approx. weight 5.2oz.
