A Victorian silver-mounted claret jug,
by John Figg, London 1858,
the tapering circular bellied glass body etched with trailing grapevines and foliate decoration, the mount with Bacchus masks on a matted background, scroll handle, beaded borders, the hinged cover with a rampant lion thumb-piece holding a shield, engraved with a crest, height 27.8cm.
The crest is that of Martin.
