A Victorian novelty silver detachable "Sheath" pencil, compass, thermometer and seal,

by S. Mordan and Co., marked with Rd. no. 260192, circa 1900,

the finial modelled as a compass, (not working), the side with a thermometer, the seal matrix engraved with a monogram, length closed 7.3cm.
