circular form, with a classical frieze on a matted background, leaf-capped scroll handles, on a raised circular foot, with a base metal flower mesh, on an ebonised plinth applied with a silver-gilt plaque inscribed 'Presented to Mr and Mrs Allen, Oldfield Hall Altrigham on their Golden Wedding Day June 5th 1883 by their fifteen children', length handle to handle 39.5cm, approx. weight 63oz.
