by John Langlands, Newcastle, date letter worn, possibly 1757,

circular drum form, scroll handle, pierced thumb-piece, the hinged cover engraved with an armorial, with a blue glass liner, height 7.8cm, approx. weight 6.4oz.

The arms of Bourchier, a barony abeyant since 1646, engraved on a lozenge for a spinster.
