A George III silver swing-handled basket,
by William Abdy, London 1795,
oval form, bright-cut decoration, reeded swing handle and border, on a raised oval foot, engraved with an armorial and crest, length 12.8cm, approx. weight 4.8oz.
The quartered arms are those of Thomas Tarleton (1753-1820), of Bolesworth , Cheshire, quartering Robinson of Clitheroe.
