Steve Wager writes on this bowl, "'The Hatto Bowl', named in memory of Margot Hatto, a German Jew rescued by a handsome intelligence officer in WWII. I taught Margot the art of silver smithing and we became close friends for over 20 years until her passing in 2002. She graciously left me her entire smithing workshop which included the designs for the 'bowl'."
