A pair of George III Irish silver salvers

A pair of George III Irish silver salvers, by John Lloyd, Dublin 1782, circular form, swag and bead border, the centres engraved with an armorial, on three shell bracket feet, the undersides with scratch weights '31=2', and '31=12 1/2', diameter 30.5cm, approx. weight 61oz. (2) The crest and shield are recorded for LAMBERT of Carnagh, co.Wexford. It stems from the 1683 grant of arms by Carney, Ulster King of Arms, to Patrick Lambert of Dunmain, High Sheriff of co. Wexford. Provenance: purchased from Sotheby's, London, 'The Irish Sale', 16 May 1996, lot 314.
