A 19th century Australian silver emu egg inkwell,
marked Sterling Silver, apparently no maker's mark, but base later filled,
the oval egg mounted on a fern tree with foliate scroll handles, each mounted with a kangaroo, on a raised oval base mounted with vegetation and an Aborigine woman, the hinged cover lacking shell and mounted with the coat of arms of New South Wales, the interior with two inkwells and fern decoration, height 26.5cm.
