A pair of presentation silver vases,
by Mappin and Webb 1918,
tapering oval form, part fluted decoration, on raised oval bases, with a pierced foliate frieze with a scroll and leaf border and applied with a monogram and dates 1869 and 1919, one inscribed, 'Presented to George E. Beazley by the staff of the Royal Works Sheffield on the occasion of him completing 50 years service with Mappin and Webb Limited, March 1919', the other inscribed 'Formed on the good old plan, a true and brave and downright honest man- Whittier', height 28.5cm, approx. weight 36oz.
