Loyal Whitechapel Volunteers, engraved silver "Best Shot" Medal, 1809, radiant crown over fasces, crossed flags and armorial shields (of the donors), rev engraved inscription, "In the fiftieth Year of the reign of George the Third this Medal was presented by Lieut Coll Hardy and Major Coope of the Loyal White Chapel Volunteers to George Mackley the Best Shot, 1st Battalion Compy", 69mm, suspension loop and ring, London Hallmark, makers T. Phipps and E. Robinson. Good very fine. £150-200 A similar medal is recorded by D. Hastings Irwin, War Medals and Decorations, London 1899, p. 286, this awarded to "James Milner … Light Company".
