A Victorian silver

A Victorian silver, gold and enamel sugar basket,

by Frederick Elkington, Birmingham 1886,

oval form, engraved foliate decoration and applied with unmarked gold highlighted leaves, the sides applied with an enamel panel of William Shakespeare's House and the reverse with a castle, reeded swing handle with star motifs, on a raised oval foot, stamped Elkington and Co., engraved with two crests and initials, length 13.3cm, approx. weight 11.5oz.

The crest is that of Russell-Cotes, and the monogram AR would be for his wife Annie Russell-Cotes.
