An early Victorian Scottish silver-mounted yew wood quaich,
maker's mark mis-struck, possibly that of Alexander MacDonald, Glasgow 1838,
tapering circular form, coopered body, with fluted silver bands, foliate border, plain lug handles, gilded interior, applied with a cartouche, inscribed 'From Sir John Maxwell Bart to his Friend James Oswald Esq. 1839' also inscribed 'Queens Yew', height 5cm.
