A George III Irish silver swing-handled basket,
no makers mark, date letter worn, Dublin circa 1760,
shaped oval form, pierced lattice work decoration, the centre engraved with an armorial, the pierced swing handle with a crest, gadrooned and foliate border, on a pierced foliate base and four scroll feet, length 39cm, approx. weight 40.85oz.
The arms are that of Johnson impaling Gladstanes (variant).
