A William III unascribed, West Country lace - back trefid, with a rounded terminal, pricked "IP" over "1704" over "I.N", ribbed rattail, maker's mark "IB" with scrolls, "S" over "V" and "d" over "II" [twice] and an "R" in a six - pointed star, unascribed 1695-1700, 7.75in (19.7cm), 1.2oz. Literature: Kent, T.A. West Country Spoons & their makers pp 23 where he mentions marks used to indicate the standard of silver including VII (as on this spoon) which probably indicates "5s. 2d".
