A late 17th century nutmeg grater
A late 17th century nutmeg grater, with hatched engraving and two pull off caps, each engraved with a floral motif; one revealing a nutmeg compartment, the other with a ring finial, revealing a grater, unmarked, except for a single mark on the grater (an 'S' over a quatrefoil in a shield), unascribed, 1690-1700. 3in (7.5cm) long.
