A Saint Cloud silver-mounted snuff box or bonbonnière,
c.1745, modelled as a swan or goose, resting its chin on its furled wings, raised on a base of reeds picked out in red and turquoise, the hinged oval lid painted in a simple palette with a Chinese figure holding a parasol beneath a palm tree, the interior with flying insects and Oriental flower sprays, the silver mount with a discharge mark for Antoine Leschaudel, c.1744-50, 6.5cm across.
